Coverage Rio Game Show
Yesterday, 21/06, was held the 1st Rio Game Show event on video games, held in Niteroi, Rio Club Corner In this post I will report the things I saw there. Well, bora start at the beginning.
I arrived "late" around 13:30. I was afraid of not being able to sign up in the championships Wining Eleven and Rock Band because the Orkut community event one of the organizers told me that the league would begin at 14:00 hours, so it was good that I came early. I'll tell you, even though I could not get there early!
The 13:30 has already formed a giant queue, which stretched from the entrance to the event outside the club in a nice solzinho-thirty ... glad it was winter, because if it was the summer I do not want to imagine what would happen ... According to my friends who arrived earlier, they were standing in the sun waiting since 12:40 the gates were opened, and until 13:45 they had been unable to enter. It seems that the public were registering at the entrance of the event (signing up for what?!?) And it was delaying the queue too. After some time it seems that it gave up and the queue began to move faster.
Inside I thought it was giving problem, because the space was very small pra amount of people who wanted to enter, but who knows how to move that gave you relatively well by the court. The same can not be said of the sites that were going on Rock Band, Street Fighter 4 and the Wii games. Wait your turn required the patience of a monk. The Rockband very angry people, because pro event led the game with only 8 songs are open! I was tired of hearing "In Bloom" Nirvana!
Also in Rock Band, the championship of this game (had championship) was very disorganized, the controls did not respond well and the line tava a mess, it was impossible to know who was right to turn to on the "stage". A poor blonde cosplayer (I do not know that was the fantasy of it) had the thankless task of organizing the queue, but apparently after a certain time she gave up completely.

Among the many booths selling games, shirts, key chains, dolls and other paraphernalia, there was the stand of Seven, a computer graphics company that stood out, both positively and negatively: The positive highlight was the game trailers maneiríssimos passing there : Ghostbusters, Huxley (this seems to be very good!) and others that I forgot the name now. On the other hand the sound of them was taller than all of the event! No matter where you were you could hear the sound of their stand. It is very ugly want to appear more than everybody else ...
By the time the famine that hit the pocket of the staff got skinny ... salted four real and three soft real! Facada! There pras 17, 18 hours, lowered the price of salt For three real. How are understandable! Practically there was no garbage on site and the floor was filthy, full of magazines especially, which were the gifts of the event. The men's room was also pitiful. Had urinals that had plumbing, or you told them see over and the business went under wetting your feet ... Soap then no way! Depressing ... Not to mention that when I entered the bathroom I ran into Sonic and Mr. Fantastic underwear, well above the weight, preparing pro contest costumes, which I do not see why I left before.
The lectures I also have not seen, but who saw said it was very difficult to hear what the speakers talked (Seven, da pra lower the sound?). "But you will only speak ill put?". Not until the arcades were fun and championship Wining Eleven (actually, Pro Evolution Soccer 2009) as well, although if I had not lost in the first round would have been better, but you know cumé, * excuse * I was a long time without playing, just play the PS2 version is that there was a PS3 and ... Oh yeah, but I will say now is no excuse: By the time the sun had been playing on full screen! Mal was impossible to see the players, and the same happened on the big screen of SF4. Another point worth being mentioned: There was this exhibition on the evolution of video games. Cool, ok, but book two screens to play Atari, while long lines were pro Xbox 360, Wii, Playstation 3, is fueda! Nostalgia is cool but has no limit!
This was the first time I went to an event on video games and think it's the first time there is an event type in Niteroi. My assessment is that the event was average and has a lot to improve at the next edition, which looks like it will happen in November.

Marcelo, what I think we should do now is point out the errors so that the organization can improve them in the future. I have a very big event, well organized, in my city, without having to cross the bridge for this!

Hello, from what I read in the community the event was a courageous independent initiative to achieve the same. There were problems that we saw but I'm sure that next they will solve. Let's wait, go and check. And companies are able to support after all they are the biggest beneficiaries.
I agree with you Anne, and now I realized one thing: The Zeebo was absent from the event. They can not mark a silly these if they want to get even for real in the video game market.
About the cosplay contest, you did not miss much. They had 6 participants: Mario, Sonic, Altair (Assassin's Creed), Yuri (KOF), a quartet of fantastic guy (do not know the name: ~) and one missed. The stage was minimal and they cleaned up the sound of last-minute ps3.
But I think, pro-level events in Niteroi, was good. Of course they did put in two televisions pro atari, which was empty most of the time, poor. I just think that the PCS could roll another cool little beyond that of poultry. I know it was propaganda and talz game, but could roll a gaming PC anyway.
The definition of the RGS is disappointment. I felt passed over it, expecting a pretty big event and I ran into a yard sale disorganized. What is even more upsetting to see the organizers that mediate cominidade Orkut deleting criticism of visitors. Rather than listen and take the errors, delete prefer you not to be embarrassed.

I found it very disorganized, I was there to play in the championship of street fighter IV (4th place and I and my friends first and second) had no organization, finished the event and no one was there not even know who won the championship, no prestige gave the award 21hs only when it had almost no one there anymore, they wait until the end to give the awards they earned at least a little pity, moreover, very messy, made a good propaganda, but at the time of present the product, had half of what was announced ...

actually problems with the sounds (of seve tava unbearable), but for the first event of an independent and almost no support, do not believe it was a disaster tota. pq gamers to events on the river are so rare!
