Inglourious Basterds

bastardos inglórios

"I think this might just be my masterpiece"

Lt. Aldo Raine

Inglourious Basterds, new work by writer / director Quentin Tarantino is a big movie: after all, more than two hours and half hours ... Well, after this bad joke, let's talk seriously. The new work of Tarantino is very good, so if you have the stomach for long dialogues and violent scenes, as being scalped Nazis or women being strangled to death. IF you have the stomach for it, you can be sure that is worth watching Inglourious Basterds.

Hugo Stiglitz

Hugo Stiglitz

Despite the description of the scenes are not as violent as they seem. The scenes have a heavier element of humor involved not leave you shocked, actually leave you with that smile of satisfaction on the corner of his mouth. They are the Nazis, they deserve to die the most cruel ways possible, oras! Despite being a film about World War II, there are parties with a heavy drama. This part is more focused in the first scene and in subsequent parts of the character Shoshana Dreyfus (Melanie Laurent), leaving the "Bastards" those most amusing (and also the most violent).

The characters created by Taratine are very catchy, see Lieutenant Aldo Raine (Brad Pitt, in another memorable character to his gallery of memorable characters), with its accent of Interior (Bongiorno!) And "The Bear Jew" (Eli Roth, who for who does not know he is also the director of the movie "Hostel"). Some do not even bother to have a speech, as the bastard Hugo Stiglitz (Til Schweiger), but can stand out and create sympathy with the public. In fact, a pity this character did not have more prominence in the film. I will not comment more about it so as not to "spoil" who have not attended.

Coronel Hans Landa

Colonel Hans Landa

But I want to emphasize here the "Jew Hunter", the Nazi Colonel Hans Landa, masterfully played by Christoph Waltz. He manages to steal the spotlight and Brad Pitt, most famous name in the cast and the film's protagonist. The first scene of the movie, very long, where Landa appears at the home of a French farmer demand for the Jews, is very good, it's almost a psychological torture where you have the feeling that at any moment something will happen brutal. Despite being a villain, even with a capital T, the talk of the character and wit make it difficult to feel anger at a Nazi killers! In my opinion was the highlight of the film. His performance it has earned him an award at the Cannes Film Festival for best actor and not be surprised if he was nominated for an Oscar for best at0r (supporting?).

Shosanna Dreyfus

Note 9.0

PS: I take a bullet for those who tamarind find out the name of this movie won in Portugal!
